I hope this letter finds you well. I am reaching out to you with a humble request. I am a single mother to three wonderful children. I am writing to share our story and to seek your support as we navigate through a challenging chapter in our lives.
In July 2018, my children and I broke away from an abusive living situation with their father, embarking on a journey to rebuild our lives from scratch. The past year-and-a-half has been an arduous one, marked by health struggles and financial setbacks that have tested our resilience.
My son battles asthma, a condition that has led to numerous hospitalizations. The stress of managing his health, coupled with our transitional circumstances, has added to the complexity of our situation.
In May 2022, I was driving my children to get frozen custard and I had a stroke. This, of course, led to my hospitalization. Shortly after, I learned that I was being let go from a job I had held for almost four years due to restructuring. This unexpected turn of events forced us to move, as we could no longer afford our home.
Despite finding a new job, the pay was significantly less, and the challenges continued to mount. Soon after our move, we discovered that my youngest child needed to have open heart surgery, compounding our emotional and financial strain. Just as we were recovering from this surgery, I experienced another health setback – a ministroke on February 10, 2023, landing me back in the hospital.
Adding to our difficulties, shortly after our landlady decided to sell our house, forcing us to scramble once again to find a new place to live.
The ongoing financial strain is exacerbated by the fact that we receive minimal support from the children's father, who is currently almost $12,000 behind in child support.
In the face of these immense challenges, I am reaching out to you, seeking your kindness and generosity this holiday season. It would be a tremendous blessing for my children to receive Christmas presents, bringing some joy and warmth into their lives during a time that has been filled with hardships.
Your generosity would not only make a difference in their lives but also serve as a reminder that even in the darkest times, there are compassionate individuals like yourself who can offer a glimmer of hope.
If you are willing and able to provide assistance, please let me know if there are specific items or preferences you would like to consider when selecting gifts. My children will not be picky, as they have been taught the true meaning of Christmas and are aware that Christmas is not all about receiving, but giving, loving, and celebrating the birth of our Savior.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering our request. Your support means more to us than words can express.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season filled with love, kindness, and God's abundant blessings.
Warm regards. ❤️ PS: I have included various wish lists on here. I included one general Amazon wishlist that has all the children on it, but then I also included 3 individualized wishlists for each kid, in case it's easier for people to view per child instead of trying to sort through the general wishlist.
Also, my children do not, in any way, expect to get everything on their wishlists. These are just various things that they like and they would be appreciative of anything they receive.
