Dear Santa,
Im a single mom to 5 children. My kids have always been outgoing, caring, wild, and free spirits but as of lately I've had to watch all that change. Like most families, ours has fallen on some tough times. We've faced many hardships this year, but the biggest one was fleeing a domestic violence situation we were in. My kids not only lost their home, friends, and most of their belongings, they lost the one person they thought could do no wrong, their father. That being said my 2 teenagers were the ones who witnessed most of the dv. They of course were hurt but also understood that for all of our safety it was time to leave. In doing so I lost our only source of income, our only form of transportation, and most of everything we owend. I've since been able to secure us an apartment through a local dv shelter that helped us when we had nowhere and nobody. We're currently trying to survive off state assistance while I look for work and childcare, but it only gets us so far. There are weeks when I have to decide between buying laundry detergent or diapers for my youngest. I definitely cant afford to give my kids the christmas that they deserve, but I'm praying for a little christmas miracle this year!
thank you to the amazing, kind hearted elfs that are taking the time to read these letters and bringing joy to these families and children in their time of need!
Happy Holidays!
