My first Christmas home
Dear Santa,
My name is Sherena Walton, and I am a 30-year-old single mother. This Christmas means more to me than any other because it is my first Christmas home in three years. I recently came home after serving my time, and these past few years have been incredibly hard on me and my daughters. I have two beautiful daughters age 12 and 14.
While I was incarcerated, we suffered one of the hardest losses of our lives my kids’ father passed away. Not being there for my girls during that time broke my heart, and it’s something we are still healing from. Through all the pain, my daughters showed strength I didn’t even know was possible. They never gave up on me, and they never gave up on themselves.
My girls are truly the best thing that has ever happened to me, and they deserve a Christmas full of love, joy, and blessings. It would mean the world to me if this year we could have a nice Christmas together. This is our first holiday reunited, and I just want to give them something special after everything they’ve been through.
